Pacific Grove

Welcome to Pacific Grove

A tranquil coastal city with a small-town feel

The coastal city of Pacific Grove, located in Monterey County, California, is a scenic and quaint place to raise a family. Due to the area’s natural beauty, it’s been used as a filming location for various TV shows and films but maintains a charming hometown feel.

Founded in 1875, Pacific Grove quickly became known as a peaceful spot for Methodist retreats due to its fresh ocean air and abundant flora and fauna. Robert Louis Stevenson visited the area during this time and described it as “dreamlike”—a description that certainly remains true today. Similar to other Monterey cities, Pacific Grove became a haven for artists, attracted by the stunning natural beauty of the area.

Many unique homes in Pacific Grove were designed and built in the Victorian style, adding to the city’s quaint and cozy feel. Some of these have become bed and breakfasts in recent years. The area is popular with San Francisco vacationers looking to escape the bustle of city life, so home prices are typically high.
